Assalamualaikum and hi guys!
Last Christmas, my family and I went for my birthday trip (hiks) at Ho Chi Minh City.
So, here some tips!
Basically, my brother and I booked through AirAsiaGo.com in August and fly on December.
(uolls boleh dapat flight price ticket & hotel yang murah gila like seriously really)
Hari keberangkatan,
Kami terbang ~2359 and tak lama pon flight sejam lima puluh minit jerr. so touch down lebih kurang 0215 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Macam biasa kalau pergi oversea kat imegresen mesti lama la. Tapi lepas keluar gate je berlambak orang jual sim card and money changer. Kalau nak tukar duit kat situ boleh la. My brother bought one sim card for him to make things easy. And then, as suggested by ibu's friend, we looked for Vinasun taxi. So we downloaded their apps (well, to be exact its my brother and apps tu lebih kurang uber punya apps). Bila dah download tu dapat la seorang driver yang ada around airport tu. Unfortunately, he cannot speak english. Sebab when he called my brother he did not reply sepatah haram that my brother said. When my brother tracked him through the apps dia dah pusing ke mana tak tahu. So, yaaa we tried another alternative which is through Uber. Punya la dugaan nak pergi hotel pon. Since Uber ni dah memang suruh kita set ke mana nak pergi, senang la sikit. Tanpa sebarang sepatah kata masukkan luggage semua dalam kereta and then go to the destination. Hotel!
Sampai je Hotel tu,
we was like what?!
Closed?!
Hotel tu macam rumah kedai yang nampak macam dua tingkat but in fact it is bertingkek-tingkek. So, I looked around maybe ada pintu lain ke apa tapi tiada. Kami macam dah cuak kenapa dia closed bla bla bla sebab kat negara orang kan. Tiba-tiba seseorang nampak button yang loceng pintu tu kat tepi rumah kedai tu. Tekan punya tekan ada orang rupanya kat dalam. So he opened his premise guna remote je. Like we havent see it before so we was like WOOWWWOO macam ni rupanya. After we settled on the key and room apa semua we go upstairs Level 9 with no lift??!!! Penat kot (ohh sebab lift dia rosak). Lepas tu sampai je atas tu memang cantik tapi bila dah masuk bilik je it is actually dormitory hostel. And I was like Alamak! Plus we need to share with a foreigner that we dont even know (dan dia perempuan!). Semua macam dah tak selesa. After some discussion we decided to stay just for one night since it is already 0400 and all of us were damn tired. Whattodo?? Hmm. Masuk je bilik, semua pon Kiokkkk (u know what i mean?).
Hari Pertama,
Bangun pagi dah selesai mandi, solat, siap-siap semua, we headed to Ben Thanh Market. We decided to stay around there. But first, we need to eat. We went to Serai Restaurant. Famous kan restaurant ni kat Malaysia. My husband and I ate Nasi Lemak (kongsi2 baru sweet ahaks) and others ordered Bihun Singapore, Roti Canai, etc,. A bit difference in taste and presentation as the bihun is the same as in Malaysia cause Bihun Singapore should be white in color kan? (haha correct me if i'm wrong). Roti Canai pulak macam frozen punya kot. And everything is like tasteless. Total price for makan is about ~RM100. Memang halal food there is a bit expensive. Tak pe la labu, asalkan Halal ye dokk. While eating, my brother and i search for hotels. Dah nampak yang kat seberang jalan tu macam oke plus dekat je dengan market tu. Apa lagi, terus book one for standard room and one for VIP room. The VIP room is quite big and can include four peoples sebab ada one queen bed and one sofa yang boleh lipat-lipat jadi katil tu. BUT, kat reception tu kena declare 4 orang and they need to photocopy your passports. VIP room supposed to be for two tapi kalau bawa lebih orang dalam bilik tu kena ada charge per person. Semua hotel pon macam tu.
Lepas dah settle kat hotel, I suggested to go to War Remnants Museum.
Afternoon nanti baru shopping. Tengok kat Google Maps je from Hotel to the Museum is about 2/3km macam tu and we decided to walk. On the way nak pergi museum tu boleh la nampak macam-macam kedai, hotel, orang jual kopi tepi jalan, macam-macam la. Nak lintas jalan make sure guna traffic light. Traffic light dia tak perlu nak tekan button macam kat Malaysia. Kena ikut je kalau hijau baru jalan. Kena hati-hati sebab walaupun lampu hijau untuk pejalan kaki tiba-tiba ada motor melintas depan mata. Its confusing. Hon sana sini. Sabo je la. So, be extra careful here.
Back to War Remnants Museum, here is some informations (just click).
Price Ticket: 15,000vd/person.
~RM3
Dah penat pusing satu kawasan tu kami pon balik. On the way balik tu semua pon dah lapar, so we drop by a Halal Restaurant named Kampung Pandan Restaurant. Harga malas nak cerita sebab lebih kurang je semua. After that I went back to Hotel sebab Migraine attacking me. Malam tu keluar balik pergi Night Market betul-betul sebelah Ben Tanh Market tu. Yang bestnya harga baju kurung, jubah and telekung semua murah-murah. You can spend 40% of your money there.
The End of Day 1.
Day 2 & Day 3 will be continued............
Peace!
